Darren Malek Is a third-year student doctor and attends the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is a resident of beautiful Montana.
Dr. Nicole Moses had this to say about Dr. Malek Darren is an extremely intelligent and driven individual who is passionate about gaining and demonstrating medical knowledge. It is his nature to behave in a pleasant and cooperative manner, which makes interactions with him consistently enjoyable.
He has an interest in surgery, and I believe no matter which area of medicine he chooses, he will be dedicated to providing services in underserved and low-access areas. He is from rural Montana, and it has been his goal from the moment of matriculation to give back to the community in which he grew up. I admire his continued dedication to this goal and know he will do what he can to make that dream become a reality.
Dr. Malek says this, “Physicians take an oath to do no harm, be honest, and educate those who come after us. To me, this does not necessarily represent a successful physician. People respect physicians for the white coat we wear and the oaths we took but being a successful physician means so much more. Successful physicians are leaders in our communities, supporting our friends, family, and loved ones, while always striving for moral excellence even when we are challenged as individuals”.
Darren, we at the Foundation are thrilled that you are planning to serve the underserved, and we look forward to watching your career unfold. Job well done.
