Student Tristan Nyman

Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine | OMS II

Fishing, hiking, and camping around Anchorage gave Tristan Nyman a deep connection to Alaska and its remote communities. Through Rocky Vista University’s Rural and Wilderness Medicine Track, Tristan is preparing to return home and care for people whose access to healthcare can be limited. Serving meals with the Denver Rescue Mission, volunteering with the Rocky Mountain MS Center, and helping new medical students find their footing have reinforced the importance of offering a helping hand when someone needs it.

“This scholarship will help ease the financial burden of medical school and allow me to remain focused on my education and service to others.”
