Becoming a physician is Pelumi Ajibade’s way of giving back to the community that helped make the journey possible. Raised in Tacoma after immigrating from Nigeria, Pelumi hopes to return as a family medicine physician with a special commitment to women’s health. Through community outreach and mentoring first-generation and underrepresented students, Pelumi helps others feel supported and heard. Now a fourth-year student and osteopathic fellow, Pelumi welcomes the scholarship’s support for the final steps toward residency.
