Financial Transparency & Impact

Your Gift. Their Future. Healthier Communities.

When you give to the Northwest Osteopathic Foundation (NWOF), you help open doors for future osteopathic physicians preparing to bring whole-person care to communities across the Pacific Northwest.
NWOF is committed to thoughtful stewardship, financial transparency, and measurable impact. Every gift helps advance our mission to support future doctors of osteopathic medicine, especially those committed to serving rural, underserved, and high-need communities.

Stewarding Resources. Investing in Future Healers.

NWOF is entrusted with charitable dollars from donors, families, physicians, Board members, and community partners who believe in the future of osteopathic medicine.

We take that responsibility seriously. Our Board and leadership are committed to preserving the Foundation’s long-term strength while expanding scholarships, reducing financial barriers, and helping prepare future physicians to serve where they are needed most.

NWOF is not simply funding scholarships. We are investing in future physicians, future patients, and healthier communities across the Northwest.

Form 990 and Public Filings

As a nonprofit organization, NWOF files an annual Form 990 with the Internal Revenue Service. This public filing provides information about the Foundation’s finances, governance, programs, and charitable activities.

How Your Gift Supports Future Osteopathic Physicians

Your generosity helps student doctors pursue their calling while reducing some of the financial barriers associated with medical education.

Donor support may fund:

  • Scholarships for osteopathic medical students
  • Named and legacy scholarships honoring leaders in the profession
  • Support for students committed to rural and underserved communities
  • Future workforce initiatives designed to address physician shortages
  • Storytelling and stewardship that connect donors with student impact

NWOF’s strategy emphasizes scholarships, legacy giving, rural workforce development, major gifts, asset-based giving, and partnerships that expand impact across the Pacific Northwest.

Scholarships That Carry the Osteopathic Mission Forward

Your generosity helps student doctors pursue their calling while reducing some of the financial barriers associated with medical education.

NWOF scholarship recipients reflect the heart of osteopathic medicine: compassion, service, whole-person care, and commitment to community.
In the most recent scholarship year, NWOF awarded $120,000 to 12 scholarship recipients. Since its founding, the Foundation has awarded approximately $1.8 million in scholarship support.
Many recipients are preparing to serve in rural, underserved, Tribal, agricultural, and other communities where access to care can be limited.

Reducing Barriers

Scholarships help reduce the financial pressure of medical education so students can stay focused on learning, service, and future patients.

Supporting Whole-Person Care

NWOF invests in future osteopathic physicians trained to see beyond symptoms and care for the whole person.

Strengthening the Northwest

Many NWOF-supported students are connected to Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, Montana, and rural communities throughout the region.

Building the Future Workforce

Scholarship support is one way NWOF helps address the long-term need for physicians in rural and underserved communities.

Meet the Future Healers

Behind every scholarship is a student doctor with a story, a calling, and a community they hope to serve.
NWOF scholarship recipients are future physicians, advocates, mentors, researchers, and community leaders. Their stories remind us that scholarship support is more than financial assistance — it is a vote of confidence in the physician they are becoming.

Where Are They Now?

NWOF’s impact does not end when a scholarship is awarded. Former scholarship recipients go on to residency, practice, leadership, service, and community care across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Through our Where Are They Now? series, NWOF highlights past scholarship recipients and the ways they continue to carry the osteopathic mission forward.

Our Board Is Investing in NWOF’s Future

NWOF Board members help steward the Foundation’s mission, resources, and future direction.
When Board members give, they demonstrate confidence in NWOF’s impact and inspire others to join them. Board gifts, matching challenges, and leadership support help build momentum for scholarship campaigns and broader community participation.

Give With Confidence

Your gift to NWOF supports future osteopathic physicians and strengthens access to whole-person care across the Pacific Northwest.
Whether you give through an annual gift, monthly donation, donor-advised fund, named legacy scholarship, or planned gift, your generosity creates opportunities for student doctors and the communities they will one day serve.

Your ongoing support helps us empower the next generation of physicians & ensures a healthier future for all in our community.
