Student Aspynn Owsley

Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine | OMS IV

Reading bedtime stories in a foster group home and giving families a few hours of respite have helped shape the pediatrician Aspynn Owsley hopes to become. Through Foster + Heart and the YMCA Fireflies program, Aspynn has seen how trust, patience, and community support help children thrive. Student leadership and children’s health advocacy carry that care beyond individual encounters. With a goal of returning to rural Idaho, Aspynn hopes to be a physician who listens first and helps every child feel someone believes in them.

“This scholarship allows me, and others like me, to continue moving forward to the dream of being a physician. Being able to practice medicine is a privilege, and awards like this help make it possible.”
