Student Doctor Angela Loczi-Storm

Northwest Osteopathic Foundation General Scholarship Recipient

Angela Loczi-Storm is a third-year medical student at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific Northwest (COMP-Northwest). A lifelong Oregonian, she grew up witnessing both the strength of her community and the barriers many face in accessing equitable, compassionate care—experiences that inspired her dedication to service, advocacy, and leadership grounded in osteopathic principles.

As a leader within the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of Oregon (OPSO), Angela serves on the Education and Research Committee, helps coordinate the Ask the Experts series, and works to connect students with mentors and professional development opportunities. She played a central role in organizing the 2025 Northwest Osteopathic CME Conference, where she championed student engagement and created new spaces for learners to present research, art, and ideas—transforming the event into a true community of mentorship and collaboration.

Angela’s commitment to service extends beyond professional settings. Alongside her certified therapy dog, Winston, she volunteers at clinics and community events, bringing comfort and companionship to patients and peers alike. These small, human moments remind her that well-being depends on connection as much as clinical care.

Her research in dermatology and medical education examines health disparities in melanoma outcomes, the effects of insurance and geography on access to care, and differences in MD and DO training. Each project reflects her goal of using evidence to improve policy, reduce inequities, and expand opportunity—especially for underserved communities across Oregon.

Through her leadership, scholarship, and compassion, Angela continues to embody the mission of the Northwest Osteopathic Foundation: to advance holistic, equitable healthcare for all who call the Northwest home.
